APPEAL: We are appealing for witnesses following an alleged homophobic assault in Skegness.

We received a report of a man having been assaulted on Lumley Road and later on Grand Parade yesterday afternoon (6 May).

At around 3.15pm the victim was reportedly punched on the shoulder and shortly after, on Grand Parade, close to the Lucky Strike / Tower Gardens area, was headbutted causing injuries which were treated at hospital. We believe this to have been a homophobically aggravated assault as there is a report of a suspect calling ‘gay faggot’ repeatedly in the vicinity of the assaults.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and making threats to kill, however we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward to help progress our investigation.
